Ride Leader: Tom Tanner.

UPDATE as June 15: This classic ride event described below is still on with the weather fully cooperating and promising a beautiful day for a bike around the North end of Lake Washington and the west side of Lake Sammamish. Hope to see you there!

Note: The Solstice Parade event is this Saturday with the parade ending at Gas Works Park in the afternoon with many activities planned around Gas Works Saturday afternoon. I suspect there will be a lot of set up activities going on in the parking lot in preparation for the parade and related events.  I strongly suggest you bike to Gas Works Park for the bike ride meet up Saturday morning.  If you must drive, I suggest you consider parking else where and riding to Gas Works for the meet up. I will be at the Parking lot at 8:45am  to sign folks up with the wavier form and will depart at 9 AM.

Ride: Iconic ride around the north end of Lake Washington and west side of Lake Sammamish and along the Seattle Ship Canal.  Depart Gas Works Park and ride up the Burke Gilman/Sammamish River Trails  to Marymoor County Park. Ride around west side of Lake Sammamish and I-90 Trail and then ride across I-90 Bridge. We’ll stop for lunch/snacks/coffee before crossing the I-90 Bridge. After the bridge the ride continues through the International District/along Seattle waterfront, along the Myrtle Edwards Park Trail and the Ship Canal Trail and returns to Gas Works Park.

Meet Up Time and Location: Meet and sign in at Gas Works Park at 8:45 am and depart at 9:00 am Saturday morning June 16th.

Pace: High Moderate/Low Brisk. Stay together ride.  No cue sheets, no GPS route -  instead we stay roughly together and take our cues from the ride leader.

Distance and Elevation. Ride is in the neighborhood of 50 +/- miles with no significant climbing but with some rolling hills.

What you need: spare tube(s), water, and other stuff for riding and being self-sufficient. A little money for snacks would be handy to have or bring your own snacks.

Weather: Weather forecast looks “great’ for this Saturday….clear, sunny comfortable temperature day. If the weather turns south and rain becomes forecasted the ride will be canceled Friday night.

NOTE: COGS Rides are limited to members and one time guest non-members. You must register to be permitted to ride. According to the club insurance policy, If you are not a COGS member then you can register and participate in one ride.
