Tour de Bainbridge:
This is a reschedule of the Bainbridge ride cancelled last month due to cold weather.
Sunday, March 26, meet 9:10 AM at Coleman Ferry dock to catch the 9:35 ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge. Sign in and ride brief will be on the ferry. Thirty-six miles, 2500 ft, moderate pace, occasional regroups. Potty stop at mile 14.2, extended stop in Lynnwood Village, mile 24.5. Suggest bringing additional snacks and liquids for back up.
This route includes not-to-be-missed, short-but-sweet, Toe Jam Hill at mile 27. For the just-say-no to Toe Jam riders, there is a shortcut back to the ferry from Lynnwood Village.
Predicted morning temps below 42F, rain or other adverse weather conditions will cancel ride. Cancellation notice will be sent out no later than 7 am the morning of the ride. If no cancellation notice, assume ride is a go.
A few reminders. Please read and follow “COGS’ Safety Brief” and “Riding with COGS During COVID”. All participants on COGS rides must wear a helmet. No earbuds please. Riders are expected to ride in a safe and courteous manner, and are expected to obey the rules of the road. Riders need to be self-supporting with spare tubes, patch kit, pump, and suitable clothing to match the conditions expected. This time of year, expect cool and damp conditions.
COGS rides are now open to both members and non-members. Non-members are limited to one “free” ride with the club, after which COGS’ insurance requires they become a member. All persons must register. The number of persons allowed on a ride is left to the discretion of the ride leader.
COVID still remains a dominant health issue for our society. COGS riders are required to follow all state and county health guidelines to protect themselves and others. Regardless of vaccine status, all participants should be healthy and symptom free of COVID or any flu like symptoms. For more information, please see: Riding with COGS Protocols.
