This ride is going to have to be postponed until the Galena Road project is completed sometime next year, and it will be a better route when the project is done.  I am looking forward to it! https://snohomishcountywa.gov/624/Index-Galena-Rd---MP-64-69---Index-2023

I'm interested as  well although I'm a newbie at bike camping.  Do you have any proposed dates?

Louise - I'd be open to that return option, and save the Beverly Trestle crossing for another trip.  I don't think there is bicycle service at Leavenworth's Amtrak (Icicle) station but should we choose to return from there Noriko said she'd come and get us - you could leave your bike with us and we'll get it home for you if you'd like to take the train instead.

I'm throwing my hat in the ring (or dipping my knobby tire in the water, as it may be). I'm intrigued at the thought of riding the Index-Galena Rd and Smithbrook Rd to Lake Wenatchee. But how about an optional return from Leavenworth... https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38755116?privacy_code=B3J9dWAIJM9Femwb or perhaps a train ride home.

I'm looking for a few hardy and adventurous souls to take this adventure on with me.  I've never done most of the route myself, so I'll call myself the ride instigator and not the ride leader so I can absolve myself of all responsibility.  This is not an official COGS ride!  The route is about 45% on gravel, 55% paved and will include a mix of roughly 50/50 camping and lodging.  Date TBD but probably best to do it no later than June or in the Fall.  Highlights include: lodging at the newly rebuilt Bush House Inn at Index and Galena Road past the washout and back over Jack's Pass to Skykomish, The Old Cascade Highway to Stephen's Pass, Lake Wenatchee, Leavenworth, Wenatchee, Cave B winery, crossing the Columbia on the rebuilt Beverly RR bridge, camping along Taneum Creek, Cle Elum Ridge, and returning through the tunnel at Snoqualmie.  I would like to keep this group small, no more than 6 flexible folks.  Daily objectives and lodging negotiable.  Take a look and let me know what you think:   https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38522758?privacy_code=vql2wDJ8kXH6LsXE
