We make a short stop at Meerkerk Gardens, They collect Rhodes and Azaleas from around the world, displaying them in natural settings with a stunning range of size and color. 4/9 is prime blooming season. Lunch ( just after Meerkerk ) is the half way point. It is in Greenbank at the Whidbey Pie cafe. ( nice indoor / outdoor setting and good food ) The ride is mostly quiet, rural roads, many times with a view of the water. +/- 52 miles and 4400 feet of elevation. Steady Rain cancels ride. “Go" / “No Go”, confirmed Friday evening 4/8. Meet at Mukilteo and take the 9:30 ferry. 3:30 or 4:00pm return ferry. You can park in the lot next to the ferry or above on side streets. Car pooling makes sense. Bring spare tubes, basic tools, water, snack and appropriate clothing.
