Ride Leader: Susan Price
UPDATE on March 11:
The weather looks iffy for the Camano Island ride tomorrow (50-60% chance of rain). On at least some forecasts, the chance of rain seems somewhat lower for Seattle. So, I am preemptively changing the Camano Island ride for tomorrow to a local ride that is easier to cancel at the last minute. New plan: Meet at Magnuson Park, at the parking area for the soccer field (NE 74th & Sportsfield Dr NE) at 10:00 am. Weather permitting, we will ride around the north end of Lake Washington in a clockwise direction. If the weather is threatening or turns sour after we start, we might convert it to a shorter ride to a coffee shop or lunch spot. Rain before we start will still cancel the ride. If you are interested in doing this ride tomorrow, please either register for the revised ride, or send me a private email. If I haven't heard from anyone by tonight, I'll cancel the ride. If the ride is canceled in advance either due to weather or lack of interest, I'll send an email to the COGS mailing list.
Camano Island loop, counterclockwise. We will start from the Terry's Corner Park and Ride, at North Camano Dr. & Sunrise Blvd. If you are coming from the mainland traveling west on 532 from Stanwood, Terry's Corner is in a triangle formed by 532, E. North Camano Dr and N. Sunrise Blvd, about 3 miles after you cross the bridge onto Camano Island. (On the linked Ride With GPS map, the Park and Ride is where the route is shown as ending, not where it is shown as starting).
The ride is about 40 mi with about 2275' of climbing. Expect a high moderate (~16 mph on the flat) pace, regrouping at the top of hills. There will be no formal lunch stop during the ride, so bring some snacks. Optional lunch after the ride at Terry's Corner.
Rain will cancel. I will send an email to the COGS mailing list by 8:30 am on the day of the ride if the weather looks bad.
