Spring Training: Lake Washington Figure 8

  • 25 Mar 2018
  • 10:00 AM
  • Magnuson Park

Registration is closed

Ride Leader: Susan Price

Meet at Magnuson Park, at the parking area for the soccer field (NE 74th & Sportsfield Dr NE) at 10:00 am.  We'll ride down the Burke-Gilman Trail to the new 520 bridge bike trail, cross the bridge, and ride through Bellevue to the I-90 bridge and return via Leschi to the 520 bridge.  From there we will re-cross the 520 bridge and then head north through Kirkland and Juanita to pick up the Burke-Gilman again in Kenmore to return to Magnuson Park.  Bring your climbing legs for Finn Hill (Juanita Drive) and the climb south of downtown Bellevue to Killarney Way (short but a little steep).  We'll regroup at the top of the hills. The ride is about 48 miles and 2300' elevation gain.

Not yet ready for 48 miles?  The beauty of the figure 8 is that you have the option of riding just the first 24 miles with the group.  When we complete the first loop, riders can choose to peel off when we return to the 520 bridge and head directly back on their own to Magnuson via the bike trail, for a total of about 28 miles.

Rain will cancel. I will send an email to the COGS mailing list by 8:30 am on the day of the ride if the weather looks bad.
