  • Join us on Sunday, June 25th for a pleasant ride on the quiet, albeit hilly, backroads of Vashon Island.
  • Ride brief will be on the 9:25 AM ferry out of Fauntleroy.  Arrive early enough to park, ride to ferry and acquire your ticket at the KIOSK at the end of the pier.  Do not go to the automobile ticket both.  If you have an ORCA card, the ticket taker on the dock will scan your card.  No need to go to the KIOSK.
  • Park at the south end of the first parking area for Lincoln Park you come to when driving south on Fauntleroy Way SW.  DO NOT park in the smaller parking lot to the south of the larger lot.  This lot has time limits on parking.  Ferry is a short downhill ride.  Go directly to the end of the pier to the bike holding area.
  • There will be an extended snack and bathroom room break around mile point 14.  Option for a late lunch burrito feed in the town of Vashon (mile point 31) before taking the return ferry.
  • Participants are expected to be self-supporting with their own copy of the route, spare tubes, pump, water, snacks, and capable of fixing their own flats.  Helmets are required on COGS rides.  Use of flashers, visual enhancers and rear-view mirrors is encouraged.  Weather conditions can and will change, be prepared. In addition, please also bring safe riding skills and good road manners.  Thank you.
  • E-bikers, this is a hilly ride.  E-bikes are welcomed, but for your own well-being E-bikes should be capable of doing at least twice the distance of the ride on a single charge.  Riders of E-bikes must also be capable of holding their place in line during a climb and only pass when it is safe to do so.
  • Cancellation notice for rain will be sent out no later than 7 AM the morning of the ride.

COGS rides are now open to both members and non-members. Non-members are limited to one “free” ride with the club, after which COGS’ insurance requires they become a member. All persons must register. The number of persons allowed on a ride is left to the discretion of the ride leader.

COVID remains a public health concern and COGS will continue to follow state and county health guidelines. Regardless of vaccine status, all participants should be free of COVID or flu-like symptoms before participating in any rides, tours, and social events.

NOTE: COGS Rides are limited to members and one time guest non-members. You must register to be permitted to ride. According to the club insurance policy, If you are not a COGS member then you can register and participate in one ride.
