 Check in Time 9:40 AM
 Departure Time 10:10 AM
  • Saturday,  August 5th, join us on a second attempt, weather permitting, of a backroads loop starting in Kingston, going south through Indianola and continuing on with a lunch stop at the north end of the loop in Hansville.  As a special bonus for this weekend only, our time in Indianola coincides with the annual Indianola Days festivities of a classic car show, craft booths, and if we are not too early, a dog parade.  We will take an extended late lunch in Hansville.  Time permitting a visit to Point No Point light house.
  • Meet at 9:40 am at Pier 50, Colman ferry dock at the anthropomorphic dolos display at the top of the ramp for the fast ferries.  Please group here at the display before getting into the ferry line for an update of any last minute changes to the ride.  If all is go, we will be taking the 10:10 fast ferry from Seattle to Kingston.  Arrival time in Kingston is around 10:49.  Fare is $2 northbound, $10 southbound.

  • Return fast ferries from Kingston are at 2:25, 5:20, and 7:05 pm.  Taking the 5:20 gives us 6+ hours to complete a 40-mile ride, spend an hour at lunch, and perhaps time for beverages in Kingston while we wait for the return ferry.

  • Alternatively, those living in the north end that want to take the Edmonds- Kingston ferry, taking the 10:20 out of Edmonds will get you into Kingston about the same time.  Areas around the Edmonds ferry, waterfront and downtown core have time limited parking restrictions.  Park outside this zone.  Please let the ride leader know if Edmonds is your starting option.

  • While we endeavor to keep folks together and keep track of all participants,  participants should be self-supporting and have their own means of navigating the route should they become separated from the group.  Participants should also have two spare tubes, patch kit, pump, water, snacks, and be capable of fixing their own flats.  Helmets are required on COGS rides.  Use of flashers, visual enhancers and rear-view mirrors is encouraged.  Weather conditions can and will change, be prepared. In addition, please also bring safe riding skills and good road manners.  Thank you.
  • Cancellation notice for rain or other reasons will be sent out no later than 7 AM the morning of the ride.

COGS rides are now open to both members and non-members. Non-members are limited to one “free” ride with the club, after which COGS’ insurance requires they become a member. All persons must register. The number of persons allowed on a ride is left to the discretion of the ride leader.

COVID remains a public health concern and COGS will continue to follow state and county health guidelines. Regardless of vaccine status, all participants should be free of COVID or flu-like symptoms before participating in any rides, tours, and social events.

NOTE: COGS Rides are limited to members and one time guest non-members. You must register to be permitted to ride. According to the club insurance policy, If you are not a COGS member then you can register and participate in one ride.
