 Start Location

Jack Block Park, West Seattle

 Check in | Departure  10:00am | 10:15am
  • A Saturday morning meander on low-traffic urban roads south to Seahurst Park. The route is characterized by long stretches of flat, punctuated with steep climbs and descents. About 10% of this ride is unpaved, including the climb through the woods out of Seahurst Park. A pleasant, very doable uphill grind.  Suggested tire size is around 32 mm.
  • This is a moderate paced ride, 14 to 16 on the flats. Much slower in areas congested with pedestrians. Group will pause or pace will be slowed to allow regroups at the top of long climbs.
  • There will be a coffee/bakery stop at mile 6.5 at Patrick’s Café in White Center. Snack break and bathrooms at mile 11 in Seahurst Park. Similar options at Lincoln Park, mile 17.

  • Meet up time is slightly delayed to allow those who might want to take the 0930 water taxi from pier 50 to West Seattle. Jack Block Park is a 5 minute ride south from the ferry landing. Please let me know if you are going to be taking the water taxi.

  • Participants are expected to be self-supporting with spare tubes, pump, water, snacks, and capable of fixing their own flats.  Helmets are required on COGS rides.  Use of flashers, visual enhancers and rearview mirrors is encouraged.  Weather conditions can and will change, be prepared. In addition, please also bring safe riding skills and good road manners.
  • Cancellation notice for rain, smoke, fire, ice will be sent out no later than 7 AM the morning of the ride.
