 Route  Kingston, Indianola, Hansville Loop
 Start Location

Pier 50, Colman Ferry Dock, Seattle-Kingston Fast Ferry.

Alternative: Edmonds-Kingston ferry

Check in:   9:40 am , Pier 50 in Seattle
Departure Time:  10:10 am, Seattle-Kingston Fast Ferry
  • Join us on a backroads loop starting in Kingston, going south through Indianola and continuing on with a lunch stop at the northern end of the loop in Hansville.  Hansville has a small grocery store and café with outdoor seating. And, by popular demand, a visit to Point No-Point Light House after lunch.

  • Meet at the head of Pier 50 @ 9:40 to catch the 10:10 Seattle-Kingston fast ferry.   Fare is $10 eastbound, $2 westbound.  Arrival time in Kingston is 10:49.
  • Return fast ferries from Kingston are at 2:25, 5:20, and 7:05 pm.  Taking the 5:20 gives us 6+ hours to complete a 40-mile ride, spend an hour at lunch, and perhaps time for beverages in Kingston while we wait for the ferry.
  • For those taking the Edmonds-Kingston ferry,  the 10:20 ferry should get you into Kingston around 10:50.  Be warned, this route is often subject to delays. Please let the ride leader know if you are going to be taking the Edmonds' ferry.  If delays are significant, we may elect to proceed without you, perhaps selecting a second rendezvous point.  Also of note: areas around the Edmonds ferry, water front and downtown core have time limited parking restrictions.  Park outside these zones and ride to the terminal.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

All riders must register. Helmets are required. Rides are open to non-members. Please check us out. Non-members are limited to one “free” ride as our insurance requires they become a member.

All riders are expected to be able to maintain a moderate pace on the flats and be okay with being spread out on long climbs.  There will be frequent regroups, however, we cannot wait forever or spend a great deal of time chasing down "lost sheep".  Therefore,  all riders are expected to have their own downloaded route map, cue sheet, or be coupled with someone who does and who is also willing to take responsibility for your will being.

Riders are expected to be self-supporting with spare tubes, pump, water, snacks, and capable of fixing their own flats. Use of flashers, visual enhancers and rearview mirrors is encouraged. Weather conditions can and will change, be prepared. In addition, please also bring safe riding skills and good road manners.

Cancellation for rain, smoke, etc. to be sent no later than 7 AM day of ride.

NOTE: COGS Rides are limited to members and one time guest non-members. You must register to be permitted to ride. According to the club insurance policy, If you are not a COGS member then you can register and participate in one ride.
