This loop takes us north through Seattle into the hills of Brier before descending down to the Burke-Gilman for a short stretch. We then climb Norway Hill and make our way through the quiet neighborhoods in Juanita before dropping back down to Lake Washington and back via the SR-520 bridge
This is a Brisk ride. Participants should be able to maintain 16-18 mph pace on the flats. We will all climb at our own speed and regroup at the top. Participants are also expected to be self-sufficient with spare tubes, pump, water, snacks, and capable of fixing their own flats. Participants need to be able to navigate the course on their own in case there’s an emergency and the ride leader has to attend to that. A cue sheet can be printed out from the RWGPS course linked above. Helmets are required on COGS rides. Use of flashers, visual enhancers and rearview mirrors are encouraged. Weather conditions can and will change, be prepared. In addition, please also bring safe riding skills and good road manners.
COGS rides are now open to both members and non-members. Non-members are limited to one “free” ride with the club, after which COGS’ insurance requires they become a member. All persons must register. The number of persons allowed on a ride is left to the discretion of the ride leader.
