This loop takes us across SR-520 and through Juanita, Holmes Point, up Perkins, Carkeek Park, Blue Ridge and back to Geen Lake. NOTE: We will be going by the UW Triangle and can pick up any particpants who want to start there at 10:15AM.
This is a Brisk ride. Participants should be able to maintain 16-18 mph pace on the flats. THere's a lot of climbing so bring small gears. We will all climb at our own speed and regroup at the top. Participants are also expected to be self-sufficient with spare tubes, pump, water, snacks, and capable of fixing their own flats. Participants need to be able to navigate the course on their own in case there’s an emergency and the ride leader has to attend to that. A cue sheet can be printed out from the RWGPS course linked above. Helmets are required on COGS rides. Use of flashers, visual enhancers and rearview mirrors are encouraged. Weather conditions can and will change, be prepared. In addition, please also bring safe riding skills and good road manners.
COGS rides are now open to both members and non-members. Non-members are limited to one “free” ride with the club, after which COGS’ insurance requires they become a member. All persons must register. The number of persons allowed on a ride is left to the discretion of the ride leader.
