I will start the ride from Pier 50 foot ferry terminal to take the Kitsap Fast Ferry to Southworth, but you can meet me at Southworth if you'd rather start from Faunltleroy. I plan to be on the 10:30 departure from Seattle, arriving at Southworth at 10:56. From Southworth we will ride along the water to Port Orchard, where we will stop for lunch (14 miles). After lunch we will board the foot ferry to Bremerton. Don't eat a big lunch though, because it gets hilly from here! From Bremerton we will cross the Manette Bridge and climb though Manette before dropping down to the water in Illahee and up and down multiple hills to Paulsbo for a coffee stop (18 hilly miles). From Paulsbo, we will go across the Agate Pass Bridge to Bainbridge and the ferry back to Seattle (15 more hilly miles).
Although broken up by ferry rides and stops for refreshments en route this is a challenging ride. We will regroup at the top of climbs but be prepared to ride at a brisk pace. Please consider this before signing up.
I will cancel the ride for wet weather by the day before and may alter the route due to ferry service interruptions or schedule changes. Be prepared to fix your own flats and deal with minor mechanical issues (There is a bike shop in Paulsbo). I will assist if I can but you should at least have a spare tube for your tire size.
COGS rides are now open to both members and non-members. Non-members are limited to one “free” ride with the club, after which COGS’ insurance requires they become a member. All persons must register. The number of persons allowed on a ride is left to the discretion of the ride leader.
