BRING YOUR ORCA CARD!

At 8:30am, let's meet at the UW Triangle.  At 8:40 we will move to the UW Light Rail Station.  That should give us enough time to get downstairs with our bikes and board the 8:51am train.  The bike ride begins at Angle Lake with an estimated start of 10:00am.

The ride starts with a lovely descent on a bike trail to the waterfront in Des Moines.  From there we will proceed mostly parallel to the water, up and down some challenging hills, with a coffee stop at Bakery Nouveau in Burien.  Once we get to Lincoln Park in West Seattle, the hills are pretty much behind us and we can cruise around Alki, Western Ave, and along waterfront park and back to the UW via the Ship Canal and Burke Gilman trails.  We can make another stop for refreshments later in the ride, depending on group interest.  Note that although the total elevation is only 2000', the first 20 miles are hard.  We'll take our own paces on the hills and regroup at the tops.  If you haven't been riding much yet this season, this might not be the ride for you.  If you have any questions about the difficulty, send me an email.
