Saturday, July 26, 2025, join COGS for a ride from Sequim to Hurricane Ridge and back.  The route uses a mix of back roads, the Olympic trail, and a short segment of Hwy 101.

BRING FOOD to fuel your ride.

We will regroup at the Park Visitor Center (mile 18), at the top (mile 36), and at the Park Visitor Center on the way out (mile 53).  We will also regroup as needed.  Restrooms and water are available at the park entrance.

If you prefer, you can join the ride at the Park Visitor Center (mile 18).  NO FOOD available here.  FILL UP YOUR WATER BOTTLES because we will be climbing for 3 hours.

The permanent Visitor Station at the the top burned down a few years ago.  That means no shelter at the top.  It might be cold.  Bring something to keep you warm after the climb.  You might even want to wear it on the way down.

More details:

  • From Seattle, take the 7:10am Edmonds ferry to meet up at 9 AM in the Sequim High School parking lot.  Ferry crossing takes about 35 minutes, drive to Sequim from Kingston is about an hour.  Please try to carpool with others.
  • Public restrooms are available at N Sequim Ave @ W Ceder St.  That's .4 miles south of the start.
  • National Park entrance fees apply: The ride leader has a National Park pass and that gets the leader in and 3 more riders.  Hopefully, there will be others with passes.  Otherwise it is $15 per rider.
  • Rest rooms are available at the top.  Ranger Ellie confirmed there is water at the top near the temporary Visitor Contact Station.  NO FOOD available at the top.
  • After the descent, if it makes sense, we can stop in Port Angeles for food before returning to Sequim.
