Start Location Whittaker Bunk House, Ashford
Check in Time 9:45am
Departure Time 10:00 am

Meet in parking lot of Whittaker Bunk House in Ashford. It is a small coffee shop/motel on left side of the road as you enter Ashford.  Park in the back of the lot and not along the road or front parking lot. Meet NLT 9:45 AM. Ride will leave at 10 AM, if you are late, we will hopefully meet you along the way or at the top.

The route is “up” but the grades on the road are relatively "mild" and the scenery along the way should be nothing short of fantastically beautiful.

We will leave as a group but will ride at our own pace and comfort level. We will regroup at the top at Paradise Lodge for snacks/lunch/pics and await the slower riders. Bring money for Park entrance fee and snacks/lunch.

The weather forecast is sunny/cloudy/little chance of rain. Bring cold weather and rain bike attire/gear as the weather can and does change unexpectedly. If the weather forecast changes to rain/ugly, I will cancel the ride the night prior to the ride by email.

Route link is provided. We leave Ashford and just follow the road and signs to the Park entrance and up the mountain to Paradise Lodge, 25 miles up. As we bike down, outside the park entrance, about 2 – 4 miles, is the Copper River Restaurant and Inn on the right. Suggest we stop for the “best” blackberry pie before heading to our cars.

Try hard to carpool. If you need help linking up for car ride sharing, give me a call if you can drive or need a ride.

NOTE: COGS Rides are limited to members and one time guest non-members. You must register to be permitted to ride. According to the club insurance policy, If you are not a COGS member then you can register and participate in one ride.
