 Check in Time NA
 Departure Time  9:25 Fauntleroy Ferry
On Saturday, July 16th,  join us for a backroads loop on Vashon and Maury Islands.  If you like hills and lightly traveled back roads, this is the ride for you.  There will be frequent regroups and/or slowing of pace after climbs.

 ·        Sign in will be on the 9:25 AM ferry out of Fauntleroy.  Arrive early enough to park, ride to ferry and acquire your ticket at the KIOSK at the end of the pier.  Do not go to or stop at the automobile ticket both.

  • ·        Park at the south end of the first parking area for Lincoln Park you come to when driving south on Fauntleroy Way SW.  DO NOT park in the smaller parking lot to the south of the larger lot.  This lot has a four hour time limit on parking.  Ferry is a short downhill coast away.  Allow additional drive time to take the detours necessary with the closure of the West Seattle bridge.
  • ·        There will be a snack and bathroom room break around mile point 14.  Option for a late lunch burrito feed in the town of Vashon (mile point 31) before taking the return ferry.
  • ·        Participants are expected to be self-supporting with their own copy of the route, spare tubes, pump, water, snacks, and capable of fixing their own flats.  Helmets are required on COGS rides.  Use of flashers, visual enhancers and rear-view mirrors is encouraged.  Weather conditions can and will change, be prepared. In addition, please also bring safe riding skills and good road manners.  Thank you.
  • E-bikers, this is a hilly ride.  E-bikes are welcomed, but for your own well being E-bikes should be capable of doing at least twice the distance of the ride on a single charge.  Riders of E-bikes must also be capable of holding their place in line during a climb and only pass when it is safe to do so.

  •  Cancellation notice for rain will be sent out no later than 7 AM the morning of the ride.

COGS rides are now open to both members and non-members. Non-members are limited to one “free” ride with the club, after which COGS’ insurance requires they become a member. All persons must register. The number of persons allowed on a ride is left to the discretion of the ride leader.

COVID still remains a dominant health issue for our society. COGS riders are required to follow all state and county health guidelines to protect themselves and others. Regardless of vaccine status, all participants should be healthy and symptom free of COVID or any flu like symptoms. For more information, please see: Riding with COGS Protocols.

NOTE: COGS Rides are limited to members and one time guest non-members. You must register to be permitted to ride. According to the club insurance policy, If you are not a COGS member then you can register and participate in one ride.
